Yamba Lighthouse

Yamba Lighthouse as we know it today was first lit in 1955. It stands 17 metres high it is supported by 5 metres of reinforced concrete foundation imbedded in bedrock. It was built after a number of historical iterations starting with a kerosene lamp attached to a pole in 1862.

The lighthouse is situated on Pilot Hill, on the headland overlooking Turner’s Beach and Main Beach. It’s a picturesque spot for a picnic. Walk past the lighthouse, through the bushes to reveal a pathway to the lookout beyond. The lookout overlooks Main Beach to the right and key rock below.
