About Angourie.
Angourie is a hidden gem! It has a quiet, coastal vibe with all the benefits of world class beaches, national parks, rock pools and restaurants
Angourie is a coastal village 6 minutes drive South of Yamba. It’s situated at the Northern tip of the Yuraygir National Park. Angourie Beach is recognised as a National Surfing Reserve and is frequented by some of the World’s best surfers.
Angourie is a quiet, relatively undeveloped coastal town with a population of around 250. It has a short strip of cafe’s and restaurants and is home to the applauded ‘Barbaresco’ fine dining restaurant.
A local attraction of note is the Angourie Pools; a group of blue and green freshwater pools created when the old quarries hit underground springs. The pools are less than 20 metres from the ocean, and the two bodies of water are separated by mounds of quarried rock and earth. The pools are deep, approximately 15–20 metres, and are a popular swimming spot.
The Yuraygir National Park, adjacent to Angourie, is considered to have one of the most spectacular coastal walks in NSW. Home to an abundance of flora and fauna and boasting views of the Pacific Ocean, this is a walk you will remember. Experience the Yuraygir Coastal Walk through Google’s Street View Trekker.
