  • Yamba Baths: Saltwater Woman - Annalisa Lawrence

Annalisa Lawrence, also known as ‘Saltwater Woman’.

Annalisa’s instantly recognizable work aligns beautifully with our ethos here at Oceanstays - embracing the feminine and drawing inspiration from the sea.

We hosted Annalisa and her family at Sandrift One in Yamba in August 2024 where she created ‘Yamba Baths’ inspired by the stunning 270-degree views of the Pacific Ocean from her balcony overlooking Convent Beach.

Watch Annalisa create this piece at Sandrift One and share some stolen moments from her residency in Yamba.

Annalisa Lawrence, known as Saltwater Woman, is celebrated for her unique mixed media art that captures serene seaside scenes and vibrant women surfing. Her work is deeply inspired by her coastal lifestyle and personal experiences.

Her art has been featured in prominent magazines like Art Edit, Swell, and Inside Out, and is represented by Gallery Alchemy, Leda Gallery, and Leighton Contemporary.

  • Lisa Turner

Lisa will be taking residency in October 2024.

A little bit about Lisa Turner

Born and bred in Sydney, and now living in the suburb of Miranda, visual artist Lisa Turner creates colour conscious, imaginative works that enchantingly depict Australia’s suburban, coastal and agricultural imagery.

  • Jemma Darling

Jemma Darling has been holidaying in Yamba for many years and has a warm affinity with our shores.

Jemma took residence at Burleigh Yamba on Main Beach in June 2024 and set to work capturing stolen moments from our glorious region.

  • Clay gift bowls - Yamba & Angourie

    Nikki Bee

Tucked away in the picturesque coastal hinterland West of Iluka and just North of Yamba and Angourie lives a warm and talented artisan.

Nikki Bee takes joy in turning the humble piece of clay into charming pieces of functional art in her idyllic studio oasis surrounded by bushland and birdsong.

A second generation Potter, Nikki grew up watching her father hone his craft and was drawn to this past time herself later in life.

Nikki makes all her pieces from start to finish utilising various techniques and glazes to bring each piece to life. She appreciates the slow and thoughtful process of forming her craft in small and purposeful batches.

Oceanstays.com.au commissioned Nikki to make their most recent batch of pinch bowls which are gifted with each stay in participating properties.

Nikki’s true joy is ‘throwing clay’ on her potters wheel and she started her oceanstays.com.au commission with this approach, but changed tact and decided to create her gift bowls using a ‘pinch’ technique with great effect.
