Yamba’s Back Baby! Yamba Road Set to Reopen Just in Time for Holidaymakers

After three days of forced seclusion thanks to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfie, Yamba is officially open for business again. The floodwaters that temporarily turned our beloved coastal town into an exclusive (albeit slightly inconvenient) island have receded, and Clarence Valley Council are expected to give the all-clear for Yamba Road to reopen late this morning [Source: Clarence Valley Council Facebook Page].

That means the cafes, restaurants and bars that make Yamba the gem it is will be back in action, ready to welcome eager holidaymakers. Whether you're here for the waves, the seafood or just to soak up some well-earned sunshine, the town will be waiting with open arms.

And speaking of keeping things flowing—literally—the Council has locked in a $9.8 million grant to upgrade the section of Yamba Road between Southbank and North Bank Roads. Once completed, these upgrades will help keep the road open through moderate flooding, making sure this kind of disruption is less of a headache in the future.

As for the forecast? Sunshine. Plenty of it. Perfect for a weekend spent basking on Turners Beach, devouring fresh prawns at the co-op or raising a glass at one of Yamba’s stellar watering holes.

So pack your bags, book your table and get yourself to Yamba this weekend—because paradise is back in business.
