Ashby Markets, 3rd Sunday of each month

Overlooking the mighty Clarence River, the small village of Ashby located 25 minutes from Yamba offers scenic views and a monthly market.

Overlooking the Clarence River, the small village of Ashby offers scenic views and a market held on the third Sunday of every month, 7am-12pm (weather permitting) — the perfect location for a breezy road trip and quiet browse.

Stalls include farmer-fresh produce, homemade cakes and delicacies, second hand treasures, and arts and crafts fashioned from talented locals living in the region.

Ashby provides a great view of The Broadwater, a stretch of shallow water with a deeper channel towards its eastern bank that’s accessible to smaller yachts and tinnies. Sitting near the entrance is the hulk of an old sugar cane barge.

This is a gorgeous drive if you're heading out of Yamba for a casual day out exploring the Clarence Valley. Enjoy a picnic on its riverbank and see the hills of Maclean in the distance.

Ashby Markets is located at Ashby Hall Reserve, 9 Macauley Street, Ashby.
