Anzac Day Dawn Service times & Cenotaph in Yamba, NSW

The Yamba RSL Sub-Branch will be conducting an Anzac Day Dawn Service at the Yamba cenotaph located above Yamba Main Beach at 5.45am (5.30am muster) on Tuesday 25, 2023. The march will take place at 9.30am (9.15am muster) at the same location and the main service will immediately follow.

The Yamba Cenotaph was unveiled in front of a large audience on the 11th August 1923. 12 marble plaques carry the names of those from the local area who served in the First and Second World Wars and dedications to those who served in Korea, South East Asia and Vietnam.

Set into the paving at the base of the cenotaph is a small cement block which is imprinted with the hand and footprints of a child alongside the words 'They Died That They May Live'. The tablet represents the loss felt by children when their father is killed in war and lives as an eternal memory of those fathers.

Lest we forget.
