Dog-friendly beaches in Yamba

If you’re looking for a pet-friendly town for your next vacation, Yamba on the Clarence River is the ideal choice.

This gorgeous seaside destination is blessed with an abundance of beaches that appeal to swimmers, surfers and those of us who just love to walk along the shoreline. It also boasts one of the longest stretches of designated off-leash dog-friendly areas — two in fact — that means our furry, four-legged friends can also enjoy the sand beneath their paws.

Every morning (and afternoon!) you’ll find dozens of dog owners and their pooches walking along Pippi Beach, south of Dolphin Park, crossing Flat Rock and then meandering all the way to Dump Beach. Taking anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes, it’s the perfect distance to get your daily exercise and ensure they get the chance to run around and socialise with other dogs while you’re on holiday

Don’t have amenitities to wash your dog? Yamba has a few facilities including Pets Domain near Coles, Fish n Fur Yamba in the industrial estate, Scratch n Sniff Yamba and the DIY Yamba Dog Wash (also in the Indsutriak estate) that oeprates 24/7.
